Ruby Darbyshire performing at Crown Fest 2027

Ruby Darbyshire

Singer-Songwriter & Multi-Instrumentalist

Originally from Scotland and now based in the South West, Ruby Darbyshire is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose musical journey began at a remarkably young age.

Her early performances included the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Celtic Connections and folk festivals across Scotland, giving Ruby a strong foundation in live music before developing her own distinctive sound and songwriting style.

Ruby’s music blends acoustic folk influences with contemporary singer-songwriter sensibilities, supported by her abilities across several instruments, including the Highland bagpipes. Her debut single Caller Unknown received support from Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, was produced by Freddie Cowan of The Vaccines and received airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Her music has also featured across BBC Introducing South West, Radio X and regional BBC radio, while her live performances have continued to attract attention throughout the South West and beyond. In 2025, Ruby was named Best Female Solo Artist at the Wiltshire Music Awards.

With original songwriting, powerful vocals and an impressive musical background, Ruby brings something different to the CrownFest line-up and represents exactly the kind of emerging talent the festival is proud to showcase.
